If your child has never been to a fitness bootcamp before, it is natural to wonder what the session will actually involve.
At Mini Warriors, the aim is simple: help children enjoy movement, build confidence and develop healthy habits in a safe, supportive outdoor environment.
A friendly welcome
Sessions begin with a welcome from the coach and a clear explanation of what the children will be doing. This helps new children understand the structure and feel more comfortable before they start.
Children do not need to arrive as confident athletes. They just need to be willing to have a go.
Warm-up games
Warm-ups are designed to get children moving and ready for activity. They might include simple running games, movement challenges or coordination tasks.
The warm-up helps children settle into the group and prepares their bodies for the main session.
Fun fitness challenges
The main part of the session can include a mix of obstacle-style activities, cones, hoops, bodyweight exercises, carrying, crawling, running, team tasks and games.
Every session is designed to be varied so children stay engaged. The focus is on effort, enjoyment and participation rather than comparison.
Ability-based coaching
Children develop at different speeds. Some may be confident movers, while others are still building coordination or self-belief.
Mini Warriors sessions are ability-based, which means exercises can be adapted so children can work at a suitable level. The goal is to help every child feel included and challenged.
Teamwork and values
Bootcamps are not only about fitness. Children also practise teamwork, listening, respect, determination and encouragement.
Team games give children the chance to lead, support others and understand what it means to work together.
A positive finish
Sessions often finish with a final game or challenge, giving children a memorable end to the hour. The aim is for children to leave feeling proud, energised and ready to come back.
What should children bring?
Children should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes they can move in. Because sessions take place outdoors, it is best to wear clothes that can get grassy or muddy, plus suitable trainers.
